CSA COMMUNITY STANDARDS & CODE OF CONDUCT

The Center for Spiritual Awakening (“CSA”) is committed to cultivating a respectful, safe, inclusive, and spiritually supportive environment for all who gather here.
These Community Standards exist to protect the well-being of participants, the integrity of the community, and the shared use of CSA spaces and programs. CSA welcomes sincere inquiry, diverse perspectives, and authentic participation while maintaining clear expectations around safety, boundaries, and respectful conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to all staff, ministers, volunteers, members, renters, facilitators, guests, attendees, and participants present on CSA premises or participating in CSA-sponsored activities, including online spaces and events where applicable. CSA reserves the right to take reasonable and appropriate action to protect the safety, integrity, operations, and well-being of the community. |

1. CORE COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS
All individuals participating in CSA activities or present on CSA premises are expected to:
CSA encourages thoughtful dialogue, authentic inquiry, and respectful disagreement. Differences in belief, perspective, or spiritual orientation may be explored in ways that remain constructive and non-disruptive. |

2. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
The following behaviors are inconsistent with CSA community standards and may result in intervention, removal from activities or premises, suspension, or denial of future participation: Harassment & Abuse

CSA recognizes that sincere disagreement and emotional expression are part of authentic community life. Intervention is generally based on conduct, safety concerns, repeated disruption, or boundary violations rather than differences of opinion alone. |

3. SAFETY & LEGAL COMPLIANCE
All individuals must:

CSA may contact emergency services, law enforcement, or outside support resources when reasonably necessary to address safety concerns. |

4. WELL-BEING, DISTRESS & COMMUNITY SAFETY
CSA seeks to respond compassionately to individuals experiencing emotional, psychological, spiritual, or behavioral distress. At the same time, CSA must maintain appropriate boundaries and a reasonably safe environment for the broader community. Conduct that creates a significant safety concern, repeated disruption, inability to maintain appropriate boundaries, or substantial interference with community functioning may require intervention, participation limitations, temporary removal, referral to outside support resources, or other protective measures. CSA is not a clinical treatment facility, crisis-response organization, or emergency care provider. |

5. RESPECT FOR SPACE & PROPERTY
CSA facilities are shared spiritual and community spaces. All individuals are expected to:
Damage, misuse, theft, or excessive cleanup needs may result in financial responsibility and/or loss of access privileges. |

6. SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, PRIVACY & COMMUNITY SENSITIVITY
CSA seeks to foster an atmosphere of openness, contemplation, respect, and sincere inquiry. Accordingly:
CSA recognizes that spiritual communities often involve meaningful personal exploration and therefore places a high value on consent, discretion, respect, and healthy boundaries. |

7. MEDIA, RECORDING & PRIVACY
Recording, photography, livestreaming, and media activity must comply with CSA policies and applicable agreements. Participants must:
Certain public events may be photographed, livestreamed, or recorded. CSA will make reasonable efforts to provide notice where such recording is occurring. |

8. EVENTS INVOLVING MINORS
When minors are present:

9. REPORTING CONCERNS & COMMUNITY RESPONSE
Individuals are encouraged to report concerns involving safety, harassment, misconduct, boundary violations, discrimination, or significant community conflict to CSA leadership, staff, ministers, designated volunteers, or board representatives. Reports may be made verbally or in writing. CSA will review concerns in good faith and may:
CSA may implement interim measures while concerns are being reviewed when reasonably necessary to protect safety, well-being, or community functioning. CSA will make reasonable efforts to respect privacy and confidentiality during the review process, though absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where safety, legal obligations, or community protection require disclosure. |

10. ENFORCEMENT & CONSEQUENCES
CSA reserves the right to determine appropriate responses to conduct concerns in alignment with its mission, values, safety obligations, legal responsibilities, and community well-being. Responses may include:
CSA will generally seek proportionate, context-sensitive, and compassionate responses where appropriate. However, CSA may act immediately when it determines that safety, legal obligations, or community well-being require prompt intervention. Violation of these Community Standards may also constitute a breach of applicable rental agreements, volunteer agreements, or participation expectations. |
