As the poet Linda Hogan wrote, we are “the result of the love of thousands.” And more directly, we owe our life to our parents. These relationships can be many and varied, and are often pivotal in shaping our lives.
After her mother died, Lisel Mueller poured her heartache into her first poem. She wrote: “So I placed my grief/ in the mouth of language,/the only thing that would grieve with me.” Mark Irwin found a way to learn more about his father by writing about his hats. In this workshop, Ana will offer a guided meditation and carefully chosen writings to inspire our exploration and expression of one or both of these relationships. Whether your experience of family is simple, complex, painful, loving, or still unfolding, this is a space to listen inwardly and let the heart speak. In this workshop, you’ll be guided to:

ABOUT The FACILITATORAna Ramana is a mystic poet, award-winning writer and popular guest speaker and teacher. Following a near-death experience in her native Ireland, Ana's life guided her to deep inward exploration. Over the years, many poems arose out of the silence. Her occasional podcast is called "The Love Your Life Project." She is the author of "Hymns to the Beloved", "The Boy Who Would Be Sage" and "Girl on Fire: An Uncommon Love Story". She offers spiritual writing workshops online and around the world. She makes her home in Ashland, Oregon.
