Institute for Spiritual Awakening Education Program Credentials & Degrees
Center for Spiritual Awakening is Dedicated to Spiritual Education. We have always honored the traditions of the Science of Mind Church, New Thought Churches, the Religious Science Church of Ernest Holmes and those who have contributed to the global awakening of our oneness in God.
We see ourselves as a local, national & global Center of influence and cultivate our role in the global awakening with joy and gratitude. Spiritual Awakening is the art of beholding the One Presence in the world.
Our goal at CSA is to help students develop right understanding about themselves and the universe and also to help them achieve specific educational goals such as a Practitioner or Ministerial degree. We divide our classes into knowledge-based classes and experience-based classes. So we might have classes in the writings of Lao Tzu and a workshop in the practice of Qi Gong in a particular semester.
We do have a core group of classes that takes a student from basic metaphysical thought to the ministerial level in yearly increments. There are credits assigned to every class and different certificates are awarded to those who complete a specific curriculum. These are enriched by many great electives that also earn credits toward a degree. These degrees meet the requirements of Emerson Theological Institute which is accredited by the Accrediting Commission International for Schools, Colleges and Theological Seminaries.
The Educational Committee approves and schedules classes and workshops for each semester so that students may reach their educational goals as quickly and completely as possible. Often members of the Center offer classes in their area of expertise which really enriches the educational experience. The Committee also keeps records of credit hours taken by a student so they can track their progress toward a degree, or transfer credit to another center. To accomplish these goals we have created a set of policies and guidelines for students and teachers. Feel free to contact any member of the Educational Committee for further information.
The goal of classes taught here is to expand consciousness. As representatives of this Spiritual Center, our teachers maintain a professional demeanor in both appearance and word. We are punctual and prepared for all class sessions. Often times, personal issues reveal themselves, which lead to insight, healing and transformation for the student. We commit to maintaining confidentiality of all that is shared in class.
We carefully select our classes based on standards of excellence. The course needs to meet the educational needs of the congregants. All courses are aligned with New Thought teachings. The quality of experience of the instructor is important, as well as how many classes as the teacher has taught any fiscal year. And finally, our calendar must have sufficient variety to be attractive to the congregation.
We are a theological institute and much of our income is earned from teaching classes, therefore we do not conduct free classes. Our Center offers a 30% discount to anyone needing financial assistance and asking for it. The student has the option of paying 50% of the class fee by the first night of class and the balance paid at the halfway point.
There is no payment plan for short-term workshops.
Payment for classes and/or workshops is done through The Mindshop or on our website and is expected in full seven days prior to the first night of class, which awards you a $20 deduction off your class fee. We do not accept payment on a per-class or weekly basis. If you wish to leave the class after week one, for whatever reason, no charge will be made. No refunds will be given once the second class has been attended.
In order for a class to be viable, the minimum number will be 10 students who have paid seven days in advance, or the class may be canceled. It is imperative to contact the class teacher in the event of an absence.
Typically, “Core / Fundamental Classes” are 12 weeks long, with each session lasting 2 1/2 hours, for a total of 30 accredited class hours. Our Class Roster provides proof of attendance towards receiving a Certificate of Completion. They are taught in trimesters making a year of training.
Most classes are recorded. This provides students who were absent from any class to get caught up. Students must attend 80% of each module, which means they are permitted to miss one session in a six-week class and two sessions in a 12-week class.
Our quality control is based on our fulfilling certain standards for our students.
The instructor creates a favorable learning environment in which your understanding of Science of Mind principles will deepen. The textbooks are thought provoking. The handouts enriched the learning experience. You will gain a greater commitment to your spiritual practices. You should feel as if you could ask the instructor questions.
