Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

Om Tryambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is considered to be the most powerful ways to gratify the highest divine power, the Shiva power

Om is a sacred sound considered by many ancient texts to be the sound of the universe, encompassing all other sounds within it. Om, the sound that sustains the physical universe.

Shanti is repeated 3 times, it is chanted for peace in the body, mind and spirit. It is chanted 3 times to make the past, present and future peaceful.

  • aum = the sound that sustains the physical universe.
  • tryambakam = the three-eyed one, Shiva
  • yajāmahe = We adore, honor and worship you.
  • sugandhim = a sweet fragrance
  • puṣṭi = the fullness of life.
  • vardhanam = the One who nourishes and strengthens health and wealth.
  • puṣṭi+vardhanam = You are the one who nourishes others and ensures their fullness.
  • urvārukam-iva = Like the melon
  • bandhanān = in captivity on the vine.
  • mṛtyormukṣīya = Free us, liberate us from death.
  • mā’mṛtāt = bring us to immortality.

Deva & Miten’s spiritual community online platform is based on the values of compassion, forgiveness and gratitude.
